Job summary

Mynaric is hiring a Senior Electronics Engineer (m/f/d) in Munich to design complex high‑speed boards hosting FPGA/SoC devices for optical communication terminals. You will own schematic capture, PCB layout, and ensure impedance control, SerDes and PDN guidelines with vendor design rules.

Bring‑up, test and debug boards in the lab, coordinate with mechanical/thermal teams, and prepare design documentation for production.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on PCB design in high-speed multilayer boards.
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with complex multilayer PCB layouts and high-ball-count FPGAs/BGAs.
• Expert use of Altium Designer including layout.
• Knowledge of high-speed design: impedance, SerDes, DDR, PDN.
• Experience with SI/PI simulation tools.
• Board bring-up and lab debugging experience.
• Space/defense experience and IPC knowledge a plus.
• Quality-focused with a practical mindset.

What Awaits You At Mynaric

• Design complex high-speed boards hosting high-performance FPGA/SoC devices and multi-chip packages for optical communication terminals.
• Own schematic capture, constraint definition and PCB layout, applying device-vendor design guidelines for fan‑out, stack‑up, power delivery and high-speed serial links.
• Perform or coordinate SI/PI and thermal analyses, and close the design together with mechanical and thermal teams.
• Work with PCB manufacturers and assembly suppliers on stack‑up, DFM and fabrication.
• Bring up, test and debug boards in the lab and verify them against requirements.
• Prepare design documentation, support design reviews and hand over to production.

What You Bring With You

• Required experience: Minimum 6 years of hands‑on professional experience in the field.
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on professional experience designing and laying out complex multilayer high‑speed PCBs, ideally with high‑ball‑count FPGAs/BGAs.
• Expert, hands‑on use of Altium Designer, including layout.
• Strong knowledge of high‑speed design: controlled impedance, multi‑gigabit SerDes, DDR memory interfaces and PDN design.
• Hands‑on experience with SI/PI simulation tools.
• Hands‑on board bring‑up and lab debugging experience.
• Experience in space, airborne or defense applications and knowledge of IPC standards are a plus.
• High attention to quality combined with a practical mindset.
