Jobtailor is seeking a senior Platform Engineering Leader in Germany to own strategy and architecture for a scalable, AI-enabled platform. You will guide senior teams across distributed systems, drive API governance, and collaborate with Architecture and DevOps to deliver reliable, secure, and observable services.

You will lead the evolution of a platform-first organization, shaping contracts, tooling, and developer experiences for internal developers, external partners, and AI agents.

Qualifikationen

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with platform engineering, distributed systems, and large-scale architecture.
• Proven track record of leading, scaling, and coaching senior engineering teams in multi-product environments.
• Deep expertise in API design, microservices, contract governance, and API lifecycle management.
• Experience executing platform strategies enabling AI-enabled development and MCP interfaces.
• Strong leadership to explore code and prototype solutions.
• Cloud-native architectures (AWS), Kubernetes, modern CI/CD, and languages like Java, Python, or Node.js.

Jobbeschreibung

• Own engineering strategy and translate the Platform North Star into architectural priorities for human and AI-driven use cases
• Lead the transition from application-centric integration to a governed, contract-driven, API-first platform
• Partner with Architecture to establish a durable technical foundation supporting long-term integrity and near-term delivery
• Lead, coach, and grow the Platform Engineering organization
• Build a resilient team culture and drive platform-first alignment, adoption, and accountability across Engineering
• Operate the Platform as a customer-facing product for internal developers, external partners, and AI agents
• Establish API contracts supporting authentication, observability, usage metering, and scalable commercial models
• Build a governed, unified entry point for Miovision’s strategic capabilities using adoption data and developer feedback
• Build reusable, standardized capabilities with Data Science, integrating models and data products
• Review architecture, explore code, and prototype solutions alongside engineers
• Build technical foundations for AI-assisted development and establish AI-native practices
• Partner with Developer Operations on automation and tooling
• Guide teams through practical evolution of complex distributed-system architectures
• Establish reliability, observability, security, and operational readiness standards
• Build identity, authorization, auditability, guardrails, lifecycle, compatibility, and service-health standards into the platform
• Ensure the Platform scales with products, customers, and the engineering organization

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with a heavy focus on platform engineering, distributed systems, and large-scale architecture
• Proven track record of successfully leading, scaling, and coaching senior engineering teams in highly complex, multi-product environments
• Deep technical expertise in API design, microservices, contract governance, and full API lifecycle management
• Hands-on experience executing platform strategies that change how engineering teams use AI to build, verify, and deliver software, including exposure to MCP and machine-readable interfaces
• Highly credible technical leadership with ability to explore code and prototype solutions
• Deep practical familiarity with cloud-native architectures, AWS, Kubernetes, modern CI/CD, and Java, Python, or Node.js
• Demonstrated experience driving major architectural or engineering operating-model shifts
• Profound understanding of reliability, telemetry, security, and operational excellence in large-scale production systems
• Excellent communication and influence skills for partnering with Product Management, Architecture, and C-suite stakeholders
• Experience monetizing a platform, scaling a marketplace, or building a third-party developer ecosystem is strongly preferred
