Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking a Staff/Principal Engineer to own architecture and the technical direction of core platform domains in a SaaS setting. You will spend much of your time coding and reviewing in Laravel, Next.js, and cloud environments while leading cross-team initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD, observability, and the adoption of emerging technologies such as GenAI into products. This role sits at the intersection of architecture and hands-on delivery, aligning engineering

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years in software engineering, including staff/principal or architect in SaaS.
• Deep expertise in backend with Laravel (Laravel 10+ and PHP 8+) or similar, SQL and RESTful APIs.
• Strong frontend design and architectural experience with React/Next.js.
• Experience with scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS required, & CGP).
• Containerized environments (EKS/Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
• Experience with Looker/BigQuery/ML pipelines is a bonus.

• Spend 60–80% of the time designing, coding, reviewing, pairing, and debugging in Laravel, Next.js, and cloud environments
• Lead technical discovery and delivery of high-impact initiatives crossing team boundaries or requiring architectural change
• Define, document, and promote architectural principles, coding standards, and scalable system patterns
• Champion shift-left testing, CI/CD improvements, production observability, test design, and validation
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, pairing, and feedback
• Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies such as Vertex AI, GenAI workflows, and data pipelines
• Guide pragmatic adoption of emerging technologies into products and platforms
• Represent technical considerations in roadmap planning, estimation, and trade-off decisions
• Work across both product squads on cross-cutting systems and the hardest technical problems
• Partner with Engineering Leadership on long-term architecture and Tech Leads on execution and engineering practices
• Enable scalability and stability through architectural design
• Unblock engineers and raise overall technical quality
• Drive alignment on technical priorities and engineering direction
• Advise Product and share functional knowledge
• Identify and resolve system-level challenges
• Support implementation of platform capabilities such as AI readiness and multi-cloud architecture

Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering, including experience as a staff/principal engineer or architect in a SaaS company
• Deep expertise in backend engineering with Laravel (Laravel 10+ and PHP 8+) or similar languages, SQL/relational databases, caching, and RESTful APIs
• Strong frontend design and architectural experience with React/Next.js
• Experience working with scalable, secure cloud infrastructure (AWS required, & CGP)
• Familiarity with event-driven or modular architectures and containerized environments (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes)
• Deep understanding of software testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Looker, BigQuery, ML pipelines, or distributed system performance tuning is a bonus
• Experience with Agent AI Architecture is a bonus
• Feature delivery velocity using Copilot, Gemini, test automation, and scaffolding
• Experience building AI-augmented product experiences, including LLM API usage and prompt design
• Experience coaching others on integrating GenAI into workflows
