We are a fast-growing scaleup based in the heart of Cologne. To help position our solution even more quickly at the forefront of the energy world, we're looking for you: a Senior Digital Product Designer.

Your Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our expanding Product Design & Research team. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our platform, driving design excellence across the organization and influencing our strategic direction. You'll work independently, juggling multiple projects within your area of responsibility while providing clarity and efficiency within the team. Your work will directly contribute to advancing the energy transition.

While you should have strong all-around design skills, our existing 10-person Design & Research team would particularly benefit from colleagues who are great at solving complex visual UI design problems, bring experience in building platform design systems, and/or have deep expertise in research and strategy.

1. Independently lead the conception and design of critical parts of the digital workplace for thousands of users, actively driving the energy transition.
2. Design AI-based features in a user-centric and intuitive way.
3. Proactively address and resolve complex requirements and cross-team dependencies.
4. Increase design maturity across the organization by actively developing our design system and sharing your insights on design processes and governance.
5. Utilize data analytics and user testing to continuously validate design concepts and ensure user-centric solutions.
6. Work autonomously across the entire product design lifecycle—from strategic research and conception to delivering high-quality designs and conducting usability tests.
7. Iteratively develop new and existing features, ensuring designs are functional, visually appealing, and strategically compelling.
8. Stay continuously updated on industry trends and external influences that impact our solution designs.
9. Actively bring in your perspectives and ideas, organizing workshops or design sprints when necessary to create strategic clarity.

What You Bring Along

Experience: At least 5-7 years in digital product design with at least 2 years in a B2B environment.

Passion for operational efficiency as you are designing a digital workplace.

Portfolio: Demonstrated experience working on digital platforms or complex digital products, ideally through a portfolio or at least detailed case studies you can present during the interview process.

Broad design skills & deep specialization in at least one area: Visual UI design, design systems, or research.

Cross-functional skills: Ability to independently collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (product management, development, research, marketing, sales) to consistently deliver design solutions.

Communication: Outstanding communication, leadership, and presentation skills enabling clear and persuasive communication of design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

A lot of mindfulness towards your colleagues.

Results-oriented with enthusiasm for agile working environments.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for tackling complex technical and UX challenges.

Nice to Have: Experience in designing AI-powered features & applications.
