Job summary

BITMUS is seeking a Senior Kubernetes / DevOps Engineer to operate and expand an on-premises Kubernetes platform (RKE2) for a long-term public sector project. You will automate with Ansible, monitor with Grafana/Prometheus/Loki/Alloy, manage dashboards and alerts, and run a Jitsi environment on Kubernetes.

Requires deep Kubernetes expertise, Linux/networking know-how, and fluent German. Mostly remote with occasional travel to Nuremberg. Full-time, long-term engagement.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, ideally RKE2 / Rancher.
• Experience with Helm.
• Knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Alloy.
• Experience with Docker or Podman.
• Strong Ansible and Bash scripting skills.
• Linux knowledge, preferably Red Hat or Oracle Linux.
• Knowledge of NGINX, HAProxy or Traefik.
• Experience with networking and firewall topics.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies and automation.
• Very good German language skills.
• Nice: Jitsi experience.
• Nice: air-gapped Kubernetes environments.
• Nice: Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Artifactory.
• Nice: cert-manager, WireGuard or CNPG.
• Willingness to undergo SÜ1 security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operation and further development of on-prem Kubernetes (RKE2) clusters.

• Infrastructure automation and configuration with Ansible.

• Troubleshooting and incident resolution; 2nd/3rd level support.

For a long-term IT project in the public sector, our customer is looking for an experienced Senior Kubernetes / DevOps Engineer. The main focus is on operating and further developing an on-premises Kubernetes platform, including RKE2 clusters, automation, monitoring, security and support.

• Operation and further development of RKE2 Kubernetes clusters
• Maintenance, patching and upgrade management of the Kubernetes environment

• Operation and further development of the monitoring environment with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Alloy
