Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract) – Insurance Sector

Start Date : ASAP

Location : Remote with potential onsite visits (Germany-based preferred)

Contract Type : Freelance / Contract, 3 months - with extensions

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer for an initial 3-month full-time contract (40 hours / week) supporting a major end client in the insurance industry . This role focuses heavily on delivering and maintaining robust Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions, managing virtual machines , and implementing modern Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices in a cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, build, and maintain PaaS-based cloud infrastructure and services
• Provision and manage virtual machines and hybrid cloud resources
• Implement and optimize Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like Terraform , Ansible , or equivalent
• Support the setup and maintenance of CI / CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI / CD)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and automated deployments
• Ensure high availability and reliability across systems and platforms

Requirements :

• Strong hands-on experience with major cloud providers ( AWS , Azure , or Google Cloud ), particularly PaaS offerings
• Deep understanding of IaC, automation, and system orchestration
• Experience with VM provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, or Bash)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Fluent in English; German (B2+) is a strong advantage
