Together, we break through - as Senior Device Mechanical Engineer (all genders) (fulltime) (permanent) REF: R00129313. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Combination Product Development team to contribute to the development and launch of innovative drug/device combination products.
Within this team, you will develop products based on user needs and product requirements, complete device design & specifications, and conduct verification and validation activities to ensure robust devices. These devices enable the delivery of AbbVie's medicines for difficult-to-cure diseases, aiming to make a remarkable impact on people's lives.

Your responsibilities include driving the mechanical design process, overseeing development for verification and validation, collaborating with partners and manufacturers, providing technical expertise and mentorship, conducting feasibility assessments, executing engineering tests, planning design outputs, supporting assembly processes, performing root cause analysis, and maintaining documentation.
You will ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards, work with interdisciplinary teams, stay updated on industry trends, and implement best practices. Some travel may be required.
Qualifications: M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience or PhD with 6+ years, expertise in multiple disciplines within pharma device development, experience in mechanical, electromechanical, and software-driven medical devices, knowledge of Design Controls and Risk Management, GMP/regulatory knowledge, strong communication skills, CAD proficiency, and experience with prototyping, testing, and analysis tools.
