Overview

As a Senior Data Strategy Consultant (Pharma), you will partner with pharmaceutical clients to shape their enterprise data vision and translate it into actionable strategies. You will lead maturity assessments, strategic roadmaps, and target operating models, ensuring that data capabilities are aligned with business goals, regulatory requirements, and innovation opportunities such as AI / ML and data monetization.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct data maturity assessments to evaluate current-state capabilities, governance, and technology landscape.
  • Define data ambition and business alignment, ensuring that data strategy supports corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and innovation initiatives.
  • Develop strategic data roadmaps that prioritize initiatives, milestones, and investments for long-term impact.
  • Design and implement target operating models (TOMs) for enterprise data management, governance, and analytics.
  • Support clients in investment planning and business case development, quantifying value creation and ROI.
  • Advise on data monetization strategies, enabling clients to leverage internal and external data for new business opportunities.
  • Facilitate executive workshops and stakeholder alignment sessions, bridging business, IT, and compliance perspectives.
  • Collaborate with consulting teams to deliver end-to-end strategy engagements from discovery to execution oversight.
Qualifications
  • 6–10 years of experience in data strategy, enterprise data management, or consulting, ideally within pharma or other regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of pharma industry dynamics (R&D, clinical, commercial, manufacturing) and regulatory context (e.g., GxP, GDPR).
  • Proven ability to define data strategies, operating models, and transformation roadmaps at enterprise scale.
  • Experience with business case development, investment planning, and ROI modeling for data initiatives.
  • Familiarity with data governance, MDM, and analytics platforms; ability to connect technical capabilities with business outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a track record of engaging senior executives.
  • Consulting experience highly preferred; ability to drive strategy in client-facing environments.
  • Remote work usually possible, but candidates must be based in and have valid work permit for the European Union
