We are seeking a talented Operations Research Specialist with software development expertise. You will design and implement optimization models and software solutions focused on maintenance scheduling and material planning processes. A strong background in operations research and mathematical modeling, combined with proven software development capabilities, is essential.

Tasks

In this role, you will help enhance operational efficiency within the aviation industry by ensuring optimal resource utilization through innovative optimization technologies and data-driven solutions.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Developing, implementing, and solving complex optimization models using software such as Gurobi, CPLEX, SCIP, or OR-Tools.
  2. Building and deploying robust, production-grade optimization algorithms into our operational systems.
  3. Utilizing Python and relevant libraries for data analysis, model development, and solution implementation.
  4. Deploying and managing solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  5. Designing and implementing containerized solutions, APIs, and microservices to integrate optimization models into our technology stack.
  6. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business units, to define problems and deliver solutions.

Requirements

What you should bring to this job:

  1. PhD in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  2. Experience applying operations research techniques to maintenance scheduling and material planning in academic or industrial settings.
  3. Proven track record in mathematical modeling and algorithm development with practical programming experience.
  4. Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods.
  5. Experience in software development with Python, and familiarity with tools such as VS Code, PyCharm, git, Jupyter, pip, and conda.
