We as Global Digital Services enable BASF’s digitalization. In agile teams, we develop innovative digital solutions for BASF and its customers, create new exciting customer experiences and business growth, and drive efficiencies in processes. We provide IT that works and offer know-how and access to latest technologies in the areas of cloud computing, blockchain or big data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are the team Production Artificial Intelligence - Advanced Data Analytics and provide BASF wide solutions for multiple application areas within production. We cover the entire model lifecycle from development, training, over deployment to operation. In this context, you will be acting as a driving force in our interdisciplinary team creating innovative solutions with our internal business partner.

• You will support AI projects from ideation, prototypes until commissioning, service and support during runtime.
• Moreover, you will actively identify needs of our internal colleagues and translate them into software specifications. In the next step, you will manage as well as actively drive the development.
• You will develop new concepts, models as well as solutions applying state-of-the-art data science concepts and work with cutting-edge frameworks as well as technologies by driving solutions to production readiness.
• Furthermore, you will be responsible for upscaling and managing services globally e.g., Condition Monitoring, Computer Vision, Generative AI.
• You will manage service adjustments smoothly in case of software and solution updates as well as the expectations of business partners for running, maintaining, and reviewing our services at BASF.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master or PhD in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, natural sciences, or information technology with a focus on data-driven applications.
• Working knowledge in the development of complex data science software solutions, preferably of cloud-based applications.
• Good knowledge in machine learning with Python and (graph-)databases and experienced in building solutions with cloud technology (Microsoft Azure).
• Very familiar with technologies around Computer Vision, Generative AI, and analytics to process sensor / time-series data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German, which define you as an effective team player.
• Ideally, working experience in agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and DevOps concepts.
• Creative and motivated working style with a strong focus on innovation and customers.
