Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist (NLP) - Logistics, Service (all genders) to join our team to develop outstanding customer service products using NLP, machine learning, and generative AI.

You will join the Service Data Science squad to automate and optimize customer interactions, ensuring a high-quality experience that scales with our business. Our team bridges research and practical implementation, supported by ML Engineers who develop reusable tools, enabling Data Scientists to focus on modeling challenges. We work closely with product teams to align solutions with organizational needs.

Your mission:
  • Design appropriate modeling approaches for Customer Service challenges, collaborating with your squad lead and stakeholders, using cutting-edge research.
  • Develop end-to-end solutions from research and prototyping to deployment, including data gathering, cross-team coordination, product development, experimentation, monitoring, and deployment.
  • Contribute to a fast-moving global tech organization.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist in industry or equivalent academic roles.
  • Proven experience applying machine learning or statistical methods to real-world datasets and deploying solutions to production.
  • Knowledge of classical NLP and NLU tasks such as text classification, summarization, translation, NER, and speech-to-text.
  • Familiarity with libraries like Hugging Face Transformers, SpaCy, PyTorch, JAX, and generative AI tools like LangChain or similar. Understanding of models such as transformers, VAEs, GANs, Retrieval Augmented Generation, and finetuning methods like LoRA.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with scientific and statistical libraries; knowledge of additional programming languages is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of A/B testing and experience designing and analyzing experiments for product development.
  • Experience with software engineering tools including Git, Docker, cloud platforms (GCP/AWS), Kubernetes, CI/CD, and pipeline tools like Metaflow.
  • Ability to write maintainable, best-practice code.
