Digital Charging Solutions GmbH is seeking an experienced data scientist to develop models predicting charging behavior, optimize billing, and boost customer engagement. You will own the end-to-end customer behavior pipeline—from raw data to forecasts and dashboards—driving business insights for the e-mobility sector.

The role emphasizes collaboration with analysts and engineers, building AI agents atop semantic layers, and designing rigorous experiments to validate initiatives.

Qualifications

Job description

Make an Impact by:

In this role, you will develop models and insights that help predict charging behavior, optimize billing, and improve customer engagement. You will combine advanced statistical methods with business acumen to shape product and financial strategies in the e-mobility sector. You will own customer behavior end to end: from the raw data, through dbt models and our semantic layer, to forecasts and AI agents the business relies on.

• Analyze charging data, billing flows, and customer usage to identify drivers of revenue, cost, and engagement.
• Build predictive models for churn, load forecasting, pricing, and promotion effectiveness.
• Forecast future churn and customer behavior: which drivers will stop charging or stop paying, why, for which car brand or fleet, and what revenue is at risk.
• Build and maintain dbt models in Snowflake for charging sessions, contracts, and customer behavior, with a clear grain, tests, and documentation for every table.
• Develop and govern the semantic layer, so that KPIs such as active customers, churn, and kWh are defined once and give the same number everywhere.
• Own the end-to-end customer behavior pipeline, from source data to model to forecast to dashboard, including monitoring and a monthly check of forecast against actuals.
• Build AI agents on top of the semantic layer that answer business questions reliably, with guardrails and checks against known numbers.
• Design and evaluate A/B tests and other experiments to validate product and commercial initiatives.
• Develop advanced analytics in Snowflake and PostgreSQL, leveraging Python or R for modeling.
• Translate complex models into actionable insights and communicate results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with analysts and engineers to ensure data availability, quality, and scalability.

Your Profile

• 5 to 8 years of experience in data science, ideally in mobility, energy, or fintech.
• Strong SQL skills (Snowflake, PostgreSQL) and solid experience with Python (or R).
• Hands-on experience with dbt and with defining metrics in a semantic or metrics layer.
• Proven track record of applying ML and statistical models to real-world business problems, including churn or time-series forecasting with honest validation (backtests, holdout periods).
• Practical experience building with LLMs or AI agents, and the habit of checking what they produce.
• Experience with experimentation frameworks and advanced statistical methods.
• Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) for storytelling and insight communication.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to bridge technical outputs with strategic decisions.
• Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
