My client in the retail domain is currently searching for a Senior Data Scientist to join their team in Germany.

As a Data Scientist, you'll operate at the intersection of mathematics, programming, and infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in constructing robust big data architectures and devising the most fitting algorithms.

Your Responsibilities

1. Create mathematical models in machine learning and statistical learning.
2. Find the optimal balance between modern AI techniques and traditional methods, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.
3. Develop systems for optimization and experiment planning to discover optimal strategies for each product.
4. Implement model validation (backtesting) methods to measure the impact of solutions on clients' businesses, ensuring accuracy.
5. Collaborate closely with product management, transforming ideas into efficient, well-tested code (primarily using R and Python).
6. Contribute to the development of highly scalable solutions in partnership with the engineering team.

Skills Required:

• A degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in mathematics, including multivariable calculus and linear algebra.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, covering probability, regression models, and hypothesis testing.
• Experience in software development using Python, preferably in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Statsmodels; PySpark experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks.
