Jobbeschreibung

1KOMMA5°

At 1KOMMA5°, we are building Germany’s largest one-stop-shop for climate tech, integrating solar energy, heat pumps, EV charging, and smart electricity solutions into one seamless platform. We’re not only enabling households and businesses to become energy-independent, but also making a major contribution to fighting climate change.

As part of our growing Product & Tech team, you’ll join a passionate group of engineers, analysts, and product managers working to shape the future of clean energy through innovative technology. This is your chance to make a real difference, with real data, real products, and real impact.

Become a part of our mission and learn more about our Product & Tech team!

Your mission

As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in our App Team, acting as the go-to expert for energy telemetry data and pricing logic. This is a cross-functional, hands-on role with a strong emphasis on stakeholder communication, data ownership, and pipeline development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own and evolve our SQLMesh pipelines for data transformations across the app’s telemetry and pricing logic
  • Build and maintain robust Python-based data ingestion pipelines for new and existing external data sources
  • Maintain and evolve (GCP) cloud-native data infrastructure, ensuring performance and high availability in production
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to define and deliver data that powers user-facing features, including price calculations, earnings, and savings
  • Be the subject matter expert on telemetry data and energy price modeling, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability
  • Develop and maintain Looker dashboards for analytics, monitoring, and tracking key metrics for internal teams
  • Ensure that telemetry measurements and price data are consistently available in the app, even under high load or during incidents
  • Build and monitor CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for reliable deployment of data products
  • Design, implement, and monitor data quality checks to proactively catch and resolve issues
  • Collaborate regularly with stakeholders across departments to investigate bugs, support rollouts, and inform product decisions
  • Define and own key team KPIs and work proactively to improve them
Your profile

We are looking for someone who loves both data and people, someone who can dive deep into pipelines and systems but is equally comfortable explaining complex concepts to stakeholders. You are proactive, thoughtful, and passionate about building solutions that matter.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field (BSc or MSc)
  • Solid professional experience with:
    • Python (for building data pipelines)
    • SQLMesh (or equivalent transformation tools)
    • Google Cloud Platform (especially Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery)
    • Looker (or similar BI tools)
  • Proven track record designing, building, and maintaining scalable end-to-end data pipelines that ingest data from external APIs and enable efficient, accessible storage and retrieval for both internal services and stakeholders
  • Experience working with energy data is a strong plus
  • Confident working in CI/CD environments (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong communication skills: you're able to explain data intricacies clearly and collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • High level of ownership and accountability; you see challenges through to the end
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus)
Benefits
  • You are part of an international, dynamic, and highly motivated team of people who have proven to make things happen
  • With your work, you accelerate the "energy transition" and hence have a direct impact on our climate
  • Work with and learn from other super-smart colleagues
  • You will enjoy direct contact with core decision-makers
  • You will enjoy the best chances of entering full-time in one of Europe’s most thriving scaleups
  • You work remotely (Germany-wide), with offices in Hamburg, Berlin or Munich
  • Create a healthy balance alongside your work and enjoy all the benefits of the EGYM Wellpass
