The Data Platform Team supports this mission by providing a foundation for data-driven work, from metrics measuring product success to data guiding our customers to improve their business.

We are seeking a Data Engineer who thrives in a creative, dynamic environment, loves building impactful products, and is passionate about enhancing user experience.

You will work with a diverse, cross-functional team including Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Analysts, a Product Owner, and an Agile Coach.

We follow the 'You build it, you own it' philosophy, taking responsibility for changes through all stages until deployment.

What will you be working on?

Your role involves writing Python and SQL, with potential use of Terraform. You will support and implement data solutions in a cloud environment (AWS).

Our tools include Airbyte, AWS Kinesis Firehose, Dagster, DuckDB, Luigi, Iceberg, Metabase, among others, to build services, APIs, and orchestrate data pipelines from source to high-quality datasets. We are currently focused on building the Analytics Layer, an API providing aggregated datasets with low latency, and your help will be key in scaling these solutions.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  1. You build and present interfaces for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery within the Data Platform.
  2. You own the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of data pipelines.
  3. You ensure data quality and transparency through checks, monitoring, and alerts across the data lifecycle.
  4. You collaborate to innovate the Data Platform using new or existing technologies.
  5. You onboard data providers to facilitate data sharing.
  6. You communicate with stakeholders to translate needs into tangible outcomes.

Dein Profil

Requirements:

  • Experience with ELT processes and orchestration frameworks like Luigi, Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
  • Proficiency in common data formats (CSV, JSON, Parquet, Iceberg) and interfaces.
  • Strong skills in Python and SQL; knowledge of Terraform and Bash is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, CloudWatch is advantageous.
  • Participation in data engineering discussions, meetups, and tech talks.
  • Understanding of data lineage, quality management, privacy (GDPR), observability, and incident management.
  • Extensive software engineering principles knowledge.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Collaborative spirit and good communication skills in English; German is a plus.
