Nordson Polymer Processing Systems, a worldwide leader in polymer processing technologies, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Cost Accountant (m/w/d) to strengthen our team in Muenster. We aim to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment and seek candidates who share this commitment.

Position Goals

The Senior Cost Accountant (m/w/d) will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the product costing area in Münster. This role supports factory controlling for production, logistics, purchasing, as well as design and development. The primary task is analyzing and optimizing key performance indicators for operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a link between operations and finance
• Support the introduction of new products and existing products within the Product Lifecycle Program
• Ensure the standard costing method is accurately applied and documented in the ERP system at the BKG plant in Germany
• Coordinate and execute daily costing tasks and annual cost calculations, including analysis of product costs and deviations
• Assist with project costing
• Calculate annual hourly rates and markups
• Prepare and analyze monthly P&L reports and discuss with operations management
• Monitor and analyze monthly manufacturing costs and document deviations
• Plan and prepare reports on indirect manufacturing costs (e.g., warranty costs)
• Oversee inventory development and coordinate perpetual inventory and inventory optimization measures
• Prepare economic feasibility calculations for operations
• Collaborate with development and product management on product launches or phase-outs
• Support the preparation of the annual operations budget

Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Experience

• At least three years of relevant vocational training and additional qualification as a certified business economist
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in finance, ideally in manufacturing

Technical Skills

• Extensive experience in product and project costing, standard costing methods, preferably with REFA or similar knowledge
• Basic accounting knowledge (HGB and US-GAAP)
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills or similar software
• Good spoken and written English skills for reports and meetings (international)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft D365 and AX2009)
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., PowerBI)

Personal Skills

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, good communication, precise working style, ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to management and internal customer inquiries
• Problem-solving skills in situations with limited standardization
• Ability to work within a structured organization while understanding company goals and financial commitments
• Ability to receive and act on objectives and procedures to achieve goals
