Senior Content Design Practitioner at our agency is a well-rounded professional, containing strong expertise in the foundational aspects of content strategy, information architecture, user experience design, content design, and content writing. This role leads and owns content design and strategy work on complex, large-scale projects in a client-facing capacity, playing a vital role in strategically guiding the project team and clients in regards to content design to ensure project success. The role is designed for individuals with a strong background in content design, product design, and storytelling that advocate best practices and serve as mentors to other practitioners.
Responsibilities:
- Project Responsibilities: Owns and provides strategic direction on content design deliverables and activities on larger-scale, complex projects. Partners with project managers to plan content design related work and effectively manages tasks across multiple projects simultaneously Leads workshops and presents work to senior-level client stakeholders to gain alignment, elicit feedback and approvals. Supports onboarding new hires or other practitioners through project shadowing and providing peer guidance. Evangelizes content design through project excellence and client interactions
- Practice Responsibilities: Provide thought leadership and follows industry trends in content strategy, content design, governance, SEO, GEO, technology, and generative and agentic AI. Expert understanding and execution of all content design deliverablesand activities. Identify areas for improvement or gaps in delivery process, or standardsfor content design, based on industry trends and best practices.

- Demonstrate excellence in crafting thoughtful system design, engaging user experiences, and impactful content strategies, from conceptualization to development handoff.
- Act as a key client-facing advocate for content design, building and maintaining strong client relationships through insightful communication and presentations.
- Strive for excellence in all aspects of project work, ensuring deliverables meet content design practice area standards and strategically provide value to the client and project.
Most individuals in this role have a minimum 5 years of overall experience in their careers. You should expect to remain in this role for at least 3 years. This can be a terminal role.
Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in industry standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Miro and other SEO and behavioral analysis tools like SEMRush, Screaming Frog, and HotJar.
- Extensive experience on complex, large-scale project in client-facing roles, with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, understand and articulate client visions, and confidently present content design concepts and strategies.
- Expert capability of leading client-facing workshops to gather requirements and collaboratively work with stakeholders, aligning expectations and setting the strategic vision for content design on a project.
- Experience working in a cross-functional, team-oriented and collaborative environment, exhibiting the ability to provide strategic guidance and constructive feedback to push projects creatively forward.
- Comprehensive experience in organizing and architecting digital content through various methods including content audits, conceptual content models, and sitemaps, with considerations for content reusability and multi-channel use.
- A strong track record of conceptualizing and designing engaging and functional user experiences through various methods including, screen flows and wireframes, ensuring that both business and user needs are met.
- A strong background in system design, providing strategic vision in connecting design systems to editorial content management needs through various methods of content modeling.
- Ability to make strategic content design decisions through understanding project scope and requirements independently.
- Demonstrated capability in managing multiple projects simultaneously with diverse requirements and challenges.
- Direct client interaction experience, with the ability to build relationships, understand client visions, and present work confidently and effectively.
- Familiarity with content management systems, like Contentful or Drupal, and demonstrated experience with design systems and content modeling.
- Provides peer guidance and supports onboarding efforts for content designers and other project team members, to foster continued growth of the experience design team and its practitioners.
- A continuous learning mindset, staying up-to-date with trends and tools to contribute effectively to the team’s success, and push the practice area’s processes and standards forward.
