The Team:

The Data Lake Infrastructure team focuses on delivering scalable and reliable data storage and processing solutions. As part of the EMS Data Pipeline, we enable customers to store and process unlimited amounts of business data while ensuring the highest security standards.

The Role:

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of our Data Lake Infrastructure team and will be responsible for building and operating a highly scalable multi-cloud data platform. You’ll have the chance to develop the data pipeline area of Celonis EMS, create automation tools and processes for operating complex production-ready data processing systems, based on Kubernetes and Vertica. You will also be a main touch-point with our support teams.

The work you’ll do:

  • Manage and maintain our multi-cloud data platform based on Vertica and Kubernetes
  • Participate in evolving our current offering and take part in developing the next generation of the EMS data platform
  • Enhance monitoring and observability
  • Automatization of administrative tasks
  • Evaluation of new technologies and trends
  • Work closely with DBAs in improving the database clusters setup and operation
  • Collaborate with other product teams to improve the data ingestion/processing part of the product
  • Make sure the data platform meets certain standard/certification requirements (FedRamp, HIPAA, etc)
  • Participate in on-call duty

The qualifications you need:

  • 5+ years experience in a DevOps Team in an agile environment
  • Knowledgeable in Terraform (or similar IaC), Ansible (or similar configuration management software)
  • Experience working with a cloud provider such as; AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Hands on knowledge of Kubernetes and its ecosystem
  • Preferred experience in operating database systems/query engines at scale such as; Vertica, PostgreSQL, Databricks, Trino, Starrocks, etc.
  • Familiar with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or equivalent
  • Experience in monitoring and observability like Datadog
  • Previous experience working with Linux/Unix systems
  • A Bachelors (required) or Masters degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Fluency in the English language, strong writing and verbal communication skills
