Join us on our journey at Entrix : We are looking for a driven (Senior) Cloud Engineer – AWS Specialist (d / f / m) to design, build, and scale our AWS-native IT architecture. Your technical expertise in real-time AWS services and your ambition to make an impact will be crucial as we build an industry-leading platform for energy system optimization. You will play a key role in critical infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with stringent security and operational standards. • Salary Range : € 75.000 - 115.000 per year gross depending on the seniority level

Your Responsibilities

• Build and lead the development of a fully AWS-native IT architecture , from conceptualization to production, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
• Contribute to software engineering tasks by collaborating with the software team, offering guidance on cloud-related challenges and enhancing code quality with cloud-native best practices.
• Design, implement, and operate infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions to ensure rapid deployment and minimal downtime.
• Take charge of the end-to-end architecture for the entire platform, from data ingestion to data processing, system control, and user interface layers.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and critical infrastructure requirements to maintain operational integrity and security.
• Enhance system efficiency by introducing best-in-class monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.
• Work closely with product managers, data engineers, and software developers to deeply understand business and technical requirements, and design scalable, cloud-optimized solutions that address those needs efficiently.
• Take initiative and think ahead to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in system performance and architecture.

Your Profile

Mandatory requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms , building and managing infrastructure at scale.
• Experience in software engineering, especially in programming and scripting languages like Python or Bash.
• Strong knowledge and experience with AWS services like API Gateway, DynamoDB, Lambda, IAM, ECS, EKS and CloudFormation.
• Experience in supporting containerized applications, microservices architectures, orchestration and deployment
• Experience in designing and managing end-to-end IT architectures for production environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise in creating and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code using, e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK;
• Proven track record of delivering results in dynamic, fast-paced environments .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills , combined with a proactive mindset.

Skills that set you apart

• Experience configuring and maintaining monitoring and alerting solutions such as Grafana or Prometheus;
• Experience collaborating with product managers, software engineers, and operations teams to ensure cloud architecture aligns with business needs.

My professional journey has been deeply rooted in the intersection of technology and industry spanning areas such as autonomous driving and cloud-based systems that serve millions of users. Over the years, I've had the privilege of contributing to various innovative projects and leading teams dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in our field.

• At Lyft (2018–2024), I initially built the in-car middleware system for autonomous driving. Later, my team and I developed the in-house mapping stack—including the routing engine and estimated-time-of-arrival (ETA) system—powering millions of rides.
• At Apple (2016–2018), I led a team in the Special Projects Group focused on autonomous systems.
• At Siemens (2015–2016), I spearheaded software development for a startup within Siemens, creating a hardware / software platform for autonomous electric vehicles.
• Before that, I was a founding member of fortiss, a non-profit research organization in Munich.
