Job summary

Franklin Fitch is seeking an experienced OpenStack Engineer to help build, operate and continuously improve our cloud platforms, both public and private.

You will join a technically skilled team, working on Ceph storage clusters, OpenStack services, and automation with Ansible and Kolla to scale infrastructure and reliability across environments. Fluent German and English are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or relevant IT training or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of hands-on experience operating OpenStack environments.
• Strong Linux administration and networking skills (BGP, DNS, NTP, load balancing, overlay networks).
• Experience with Docker or Podman containers.
• Knowledge of Ceph storage, ideally cephadm.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and OpenStack deployment using Kolla containers.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch is a plus.

We're looking for a technically skilled professional with strong Linux and OpenStack expertise who enjoys solving complex challenges and automating infrastructure at scale.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop, operate and enhance public and private cloud platforms based on OpenStack.
• Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of cloud services as part of our CLOUD4EUROPE strategy.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Operate and maintain Ceph-based storage clusters using cephadm.
• Automate infrastructure configuration and service deployment using Ansible and Kolla containers.
• Work with a broad range of OpenStack services, including Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance and Cinder.
• Support the reliability, performance and scalability of cloud infrastructure.

Your Profile

• Knowledge of monitoring and infrastructure tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch is an advantage.
• A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Very good German and English language skills.
