Job summary

Franklin Fitch is seeking an experienced OpenStack Engineer to join our cloud infrastructure team in Germany. You will build, operate and continuously improve public and private cloud platforms based on OpenStack, with Ceph storage, Kolla deployments and automation via Ansible.

You will work with OpenStack services like Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance and Cinder, ensuring reliability, performance and scalability while collaborating across teams and technologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT training.
• Two years of hands-on experience operating OpenStack environments.
• Strong Linux administration and networking skills (BGP, DNS, NTP, load balancing, overlays).
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Podman.
• Knowledge of Ceph storage, ideally cephadm.
• Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and OpenStack deployment using Kolla containers.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset, eager to learn.
• Very good German and English language skills.
