Purpose

Independently handle project chartering or dry bulk chartering processes. Develop new clients and maintain good customer relationships to secure industry project cargos or dry bulk cargos within your area of expertise. Be familiar with vessel types, have deep contacts with brokers and ship owners, and effectively analyze market dynamics to achieve profitable fixtures.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Chartering Manager :

• Possess the ability to charter multi-purpose vessels.
• Handle cargo bookings from the Atlantic to the Far East.
• Maintain relationships with local OEM suppliers in Hamburg; seek charter quotations from shipowners or ship agents for vessel leasing services.
• Analyze freight markets, including vessel and cargo trades, to maximize team value and conduct short-term and spot chartering of dry bulk freight.
• Assist the Project Team in booking space for break bulk cargo or fixing MPP (Multipurpose Project) return legs.
• Ensure all transactions comply with group policies, oversee vessel P&L performance in consultation with Operations, and provide market data and intelligence. Write reports and analyze freight fixtures against market conditions.
• Manage existing customer relationships, develop new business for dry bulk cargo, and maintain broker relationships. Support regional Sky Fusion Teams in engaging and attracting customers.
• Coordinate with Operations on vessel ETAs and fixtures, supervise ships’ performance, and utilize freight knowledge for voyage calculations.
• Provide advisory services for contract reviews and commercial planning; source, negotiate, and contract dry bulk cargo opportunities. Proficient in executing COA (Contract of Affreightment) terms.
• Proficient in using FFA (Forward Freight Agreements) hedging tools to ensure voyage profitability.

• Possess the ability to charter multi-purpose vessels.
• Handle cargo bookings from the Atlantic to the Far East.
• Maintain relationships with local OEM suppliers in Hamburg; seek charter quotations from shipowners or ship agents for vessel leasing services.
• Develop project chartering business aligned with the company strategy.
• Drive the growth of new accounts and nurture existing relationships.
• Provide MPP chartering project solutions to clients with the internal engineering team.
• Offer competitive pricing solutions for various projects and cargoes.
• Oversee vessel space and availability to optimize operations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of Project Chartering.

Key Qualifications

• Relevant experience in shipping, preferably with multi-purpose vessels operation or commercial experience.
• Good international trade route experience, understanding cargo flow and ship supply; extensive client resources in dry bulk and industrial project logistics; strong broker contacts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to establish relationships with clients, ship owners, and brokers.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• High self-motivation and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher.
