Job summary

Franklin Fitch in Germany is searching for a Senior Buyer to join their European operations in Frankfurt. You will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for plastics manufacturing, including injection moulding, tooling, and NPI.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in manufacturing procurement, proven plastics industry experience, and fluency in German and English. You will drive cost reductions, negotiate with suppliers, and collaborate with Engineering and Operations to support launches.

• 6+ years' procurement experience within manufacturing.
• Proven plastics industry experience – essential.
• Knowledge of injection moulding and plastic components.
• Experience with tooling and new product introduction.
• Strong supplier negotiation and commercial skills.
• Fluent German and English.

I’m currently supporting a leading international company with the search for a Senior Buyer to join their European operations in Frankfurt.

Important: Previous experience in both manufacturing and plastics is essential for this position.

We are looking for a procurement professional who understands the plastics manufacturing environment, particularly injection moulding, tooling, supplier management and production requirements.

The role

You will be responsible for strategic sourcing and supplier management, including:

• Sourcing injection-moulded components and plastic materials
• Leading RFQs, supplier selection and commercial negotiations
• Managing suppliers across cost, quality and delivery
• Driving cost reduction and sourcing initiatives
• Working with Engineering and Operations on tooling and part development
• Supporting new product introductions and production launches
• Managing supplier capacity, risk and continuity
• Supporting supply chain and operational requirements
• Contributing to supplier development and continuous improvement

6+ years' procurement experience within a manufacturing environment

Proven plastics industry experience – essential

Strong knowledge of injection moulding and plastic components

Experience with tooling and new product introduction

Strong supplier negotiation and commercial skills

Understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs and production requirements

Experience with ERP systems and Excel

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Fluent German and English
