Key Responsibilities:

Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and monitor industry trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Align innovation initiatives with business strategy and operational goals.
  • Lead or contribute to strategic planning, including SWOT analyses and market positioning.
Business Growth
  • Identify and pursue strategic opportunities to support organic growth and new business development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand market share, increase revenue, and enhance customer engagement.
  • Support proposal development to ensure alignment with organizational strengths and market needs.
  • Monitor and report on key business and financial metrics.
  • Integrate ESG and sustainability considerations into business strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with global, interdisciplinary teams including data scientists, editors, and subject-matter experts.
  • Communicate strategic and innovation goals across the business unit.
  • Train and coach staff on strategic thinking and innovation processes.
Innovation Management
  • Manage innovation projects from ideation to implementation, including developing metrics for effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, idea generation, and collaboration.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Advanced degree in business, life sciences, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Additional qualifications in business, innovation management, or data science.
  • 5+ years experience in business or innovation development, data sciences.
  • Fluent in English; German skills are a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, manage budgets, and meet revenue targets.
  • Familiarity with digital publishing, data analytics, AI, and machine learning.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Innovative, action-oriented, and capable of independent work.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • International experience and cultural sensitivity; willingness to travel.
