We are seeking a meticulous and creative Senior Business Process Architect (f / m / d) to lead the Process Improvement Team as the key subject matter expert for delivering on organisation-wide goals to analyse, re-engineer workflows and document our E2E business processes, with a primary focus on enabling agentic AI solutions and preparing processes for AI-driven transformation.

A core requirement for a Sr. Business Process Architect within Allianz Global Investors is a high standard of collaboration and communication skills towards all levels of the organisation and across all functions. We require the candidate to be able to drive, lead and work with the process owners to get to the heart of their process and to aid and enable the business functions in bringing their improvement use cases forward into implementation and the successful realisation of the benefits in terms of FTE / cost savings, scalability, and quality improvements.

This role will be preferably based in Munich, however applicants from Frankfurt, Paris or Luxembourg are also considered.

What you will do
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the process improvement strategy aligned with AllianzGI’s business goals, focusing on process culture, workflow re-engineering, and documentation as a whole, with a particular emphasis on agentic AI readiness and orchestration, and a special focus on operations (incl. outsourced processes), to meet FTE / Cost reduction and scalability KPIs
  • Team Lead: Manage and mentor the process improvement team, including other Business Process Architects and cross-functional contributors, ensuring high engagement and capability growth
  • Drive business process assessments for identifying improvement opportunities and change implementations for AI and agentic automation
  • Document (with metrics), understand, identify and analyse business processes requiring enhancement as part of the reviews
  • Lead continuous improvement culture: design and execute Kaizen / Lean Six Sigma trainings as well as outside-the-box continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. gamification) to foster a mindset of ongoing enhancement and cross-functional collaboration across AllianzGI
  • Own and promote the AllianzGI documentation framework including ongoing maintenance of Business Process Inventory (BPI).
  • Represent AllianzGI in the market via Process / Automation events
  • Coordinate and network within Allianz Group to ensure E2E Operational efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned
What you bring
  • Master Black Belt (preferred), or Black Belt (minimum) in Lean Six Sigma. Other process methodologies certifications are a plus
  • 10+ years previous experience in the process domain, ideally in Financial Services
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and find creative ways to approach challenges
  • Strong change management experience
  • Previous team management experience is plus
  • Basic knowledge of financial instruments and the investment value chain in asset management
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field
  • Master’s Degree is a plus
  • Leadership and mentoring of team members
  • Ability to think critically, ask good questions, and work autonomously
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Power Point, TEAMS, Word)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in applying AI / ML tools or agentic AI orchestration platforms

  • Full fluency in English both spoken and written required, French or German are a plus
