Their work supports decision-making across the industrial value chain, with applications in pharmaceuticals, materials science, and environmental safety.

As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager (Chemical & Pharmaceutical Analytics) to lead the acquisition of new clients and develop strategic partnerships. This is a commercially pivotal role with direct influence on revenue, contribution margin, and long-term market positioning.

This position is based in Germany and offered on a hybrid working model, with regular on-site collaboration and travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a proactive outbound sales strategy tailored to market trends and customer requirements across chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Identify, engage, and convert new business opportunities, creating customised proposals for clients in both national and international markets.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with key decision-makers to drive sustainable long-term partnerships.
  • Lead end-to-end sales activities, including pricing discussions and contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Collaborate with technical and analytical teams to translate customer needs into tailored service offerings.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and trade fairs to increase brand visibility and market access.
  • Maintain structured CRM records and generate insightful sales reports to support forecasting and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry, ideally with a focus on laboratory analysis or testing services.
  • Proven track record in B2B sales, business development, or technical account management.
  • In-depth understanding of chemical and pharmaceutical markets, including relevant industry standards and client expectations.
  • Degree in economics, natural sciences, or engineering/technology.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage at executive level.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Germany and internationally (approx. 20–40% depending on business needs).
  • Fluent in German and English.
