IDEX Consulting Ltd. is partnering with an international insurance broker to appoint a Senior Broker focused on the DACH market.

The role leads structuring and placement of warranty and indemnity risks on German, Austrian and Swiss transactions, negotiating policy terms with underwriters and advising clients on coverage and exclusions. Based in Frankfurt or Munich on a hybrid basis, the role requires fluent German and English, strong technical judgement, and the ability to build a market profile

Job description

We're partnered with an international insurance broker with a growing transactional risk practice, advising private equity sponsors, corporates and their advisers on the structuring and placement of warranty and indemnity insurance. As part of the continued build-out of their European proposition, they are looking to appoint a Senior Broker to focus on the DACH market.

This is a rare route for a top-tier M&A lawyer to move into the market and put their transactional and legal experience to work commercially, without leaving their technical grounding behind. No prior insurance experience is required; the broking side of the role is fully supported. In place of the billable hour, success is measured on clean execution, and you will stay close to transactions while seeing them from a different, and frequently more decisive, angle.

You will lead the structuring and placement of W&I risks on German, Austrian and Swiss transactions, working alongside deal teams from early-stage bids through signing and closing. That means negotiating policy terms with underwriters, advising clients on coverage, diligence scope and exclusions, and supporting them through the claims process where needed. You will also build and deepen relationships with private equity houses, corporate development teams and law firms across the region, contributing directly to the growth of the firm's DACH franchise.

We're keen to speak with corporate M&A or private equity lawyers trained at a leading international or top-tier domestic firm, with solid experience of negotiating SPAs on DACH transactions and a clear interest in moving into a commercial, client-facing role. Fluent German and English are essential. You'll bring strong technical judgement, the confidence to hold your ground with clients and underwriters alike, and the appetite to build a market profile of your own. The role is based in Frankfurt or Munich on a hybrid basis.
