Job summary

IDEX Consulting Ltd. in Germany is recruiting a Head of DACH to lead and grow the warranty and indemnity risk practice across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

You will own the regional strategy, origination and growth, recruit and mentor a team of brokers, and build relationships with private equity sponsors, corporates and advisers, while negotiating with underwriters across Europe. Fluent German and English are essential, and the role is based in Frankfurt or Munich on a hybrid basis,

Job description

We're working with a global insurance broker and risk manager with a growing transactional risk practice, advising private equity sponsors, corporates and their advisers on the structuring and placement of warranty and indemnity insurance. With the DACH region a clear strategic priority, they are looking to appoint a Head of DACH to lead and build their presence in the German, Austrian and Swiss markets.

This is a genuine leadership mandate. You will own the strategy, origination and growth of the DACH proposition, backed by the platform and reach of an international broker, with the remit to shape the team around you as the business scales.

You will lead the structuring and placement of W&I risks on the region's most significant transactions, working with private equity sponsors, corporates and their advisers from early-stage bids through signing and closing, and negotiating terms with underwriters across the European market. Alongside personal origination, you will set the regional strategy, represent the firm in the market, develop relationships with private equity houses and law firms across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and recruit, mentor and develop a team of brokers as the practice expands.

We're keen to speak with an existing market professional with credibility within the space or a senior corporate M&A or private equity lawyer from a leading international or top-tier domestic firm, with a deep transactional track record across DACH and an established network among sponsors, corporates and advisers in the region. Prior exposure to W&I, whether on the buy‑side, sell‑side or through policy negotiation, will be well regarded, as will experience already gained within the market. Fluent German and English are essential. You'll bring the credibility to lead from the front with clients and underwriters, the commercial drive to build a business, and the judgement and presence to lead a team. The role is based in Frankfurt or Munich on a hybrid basis, with genuine autonomy over how the practice is built.
