Job summary

Tilta, a fast-growing fintech in Berlin, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build the next generation of financial user experiences and redefine how businesses access capital.

As an engineer, you will own features end-to-end, design scalable backend services with Node.js (Fastify) and TypeScript, and collaborate with product, design, and engineering to deliver impactful solutions for customers.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience developing SaaS products.
• Fluent in TypeScript and Node.js and able to build scalable backend services.
• Experience with React is a plus; capable across the stack.
• Solid object-oriented programming skills and strong fundamentals of software engineering.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and integrating with external services.
• Ownership of features from discovery through production support.
• Comfort with distributed, microservice-based architectures.
• CI/CD practices to deliver value quickly and reliably.
• Curious, pragmatic, and eager to learn new technologies.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Own new features end-to-end, from technical design to production.
• Build and evolve backend services powering the next generation of financial products.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to solve real customer problems.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Help shape our services, APIs, and development processes as part of an agile product team.
• Work primarily with Node.js (Fastify), TypeScript, PostgreSQL, while contributing across the stack when needed.

As an engineer at Tilta, you will work closely with product, business, and engineering teams to design, build, and evolve scalable financial products. You'll take ownership of features from idea to production while helping create developer-friendly APIs and seamless user experiences for the next generation of financial services.

About You

• At least 4 years of relevant in developing SaaS products
• You are fluent in TypeScript and Node.js and enjoy building scalable backend services.
• Experience with React is a plus - you are comfortable contributing across the stack when needed.
• You have solid object-oriented programming skills and a strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
