Job summary

Traide AI in Berlin. We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build AI-powered backend services for a B2B SaaS platform. You will own end-to-end feature delivery, write both server and client-facing code, and drive architectural decisions across teams.

You bring 7+ years of software engineering, deep TypeScript expertise, REST/GraphQL experience, and strong DB skills with PostgreSQL and Redis. English fluency is essential; German is a plus. Hybrid work with office in Berlin is offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in dynamic environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Deep proficiency in TypeScript, including advanced type-level programming.
• Familiarity with REST and GraphQL APIs, event-driven architecture and common design patterns.
• Strong databases skills with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and its services.
• Proactive about AI tooling in workflows and mastering emerging tech.
• Excellent English skills (C1+); German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of features in our web backend and services.
• Write client- and server-side code across the stack.
• Analyze trade-offs and discuss designs RFC-style.
• Be the backend expert in rotating project teams and mentoring others.
• Maintain high code quality, architecture and best practices.
• Design robust tests and CI/CD improvements.
• Collaborate with designers, AI engineers and product folks to shape features.

As a Senior Backend Engineer , you'll play a pivotal role in builing robust, AI-powered backend services and infrastructure that drives the value creation for our customers. Your main expertise lies in backend technology but you should not be afraid to contribute to other parts of the application. You love clear thinking over hype, and you're energized by the idea of turning AI research into products people actually use every day. 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience , ideally building complex products in dynamic environments Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related discipline Deep proficiency in TypeScript , including advanced type-level programming Familiarity with synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns , HTTP APIs ( REST and GraphQL ), event-driven architecture, and common design patterns. Solid database skills across both relational and non-relational databases such as Pos and Redis or similar. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud , and the services that typically come with them.
