Tasks

What we are looking for

We want to be transparent—this position is not for everyone. We’re seeking our first key engineering hire to take ownership and leadership in building our technical foundation alongside our CTO. You should be comfortable jumping from back-end to front-end, from cloud environments to whiteboard brainstorming. What we’re excited to see

• Experience with ETL pipelines: Writing ETL jobs in Python, automating with tools like Cloud Scheduler and Celery, handling data workflows at scale.
• Performance optimization: Experience with high-traffic systems (200+ requests/sec), SQL query optimization, reducing latency, and enhancing system performance.
• Full-stack mindset: Comfort with front-end and back-end development, quick prototyping, and seeing the big picture.
• Cloud expertise: Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, and building cloud-agnostic solutions.
• Ownership and leadership: Desire to grow with the company, establish best practices, and push technical boundaries.

Areas You Will Work With

1. CRUD APIs

Our goal is to integrate our text-generation tech into every text box. You’ll work on:

• Architecting scalable APIs to handle traffic spikes.
• Integrating AI models into digital ecosystems with low latency and high uptime.
• Establishing best practices for endpoint design, testing, and deployment.

Focus on user value and design, contributing to front-end decisions to ensure speed and usability even under heavy load.

2. Cloud Computing

Having moved from a single server to cloud infrastructure, we now:

• Build cloud-agnostic software optimizing resource use.
• Deploy efficiently for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor and fine-tune infrastructure to prevent bottlenecks and reduce latency.
• Have experience with Google Cloud Platform.

Requirements

What you should bring

• Experience or a degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field, with a portfolio of work.
• Understanding of usability and design principles to implement user-friendly back-end applications independently.
• Proactive decision-making skills, akin to a business owner.
• Proficiency in Python, with frameworks like Flask, Quart, or FastAPI.
• Experience managing cloud resources on GCP and AWS for inferencing and training.
• Experience with AI and SaaS, especially in fast-growing seed to Series A companies.
• Strong analytical skills for problem breakdown, evaluation, and resolution.
• Ownership mindset, growth orientation, and domain knowledge in SaaS products for SME, enterprise, and content software.
• Desire to grow from tactician to strategist.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
• Ability to execute tasks efficiently and influence others.
