Senior Automation Engineer (m/w/d) System Integration - Full-time, Permanent
Position Details

We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer (m/w/d) with project experience in the automotive sector to join our growing Industrial Automation team. This role involves regular travel (~60%) to our clients and to BÄR Automation GmbH in Gemmingen near Heilbronn. (Since 2023, Agile Robots SE is the majority shareholder of BÄR Automation GmbH.)
Alternatively, we are open to candidates based mainly in Gemmingen or Stuttgart who are willing to travel regularly to our clients and Munich headquarters.

Varied Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with machinery directives for industrial safety (e.g., CE regulations)
  • Conduct hazard analyses and FMEAs for automated systems. Reduce safety risks through appropriate control measures
  • Provide expertise in the design, development, analysis, and evaluation of automation systems throughout their lifecycle, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
  • Lead development of robotic systems, understanding how components work together to meet operational goals, balancing performance, reliability, and safety
  • Perform feasibility studies to assess automation project viability, using simulations to evaluate system performance, reliability, and safety under various conditions
  • Maintain oversight of project objectives and coordinate efforts to ensure overall success, aligning system integration with customer requirements and project milestones
Candidate Profile
  • Several years of experience in automation, automotive, or mechanical engineering industries, preferably with robotics and AMRs in automotive
  • Advanced knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, robotics, and sensors
  • Ability to lead small technical teams, review technical work products, and manage costs and schedules
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
  • Willingness to travel 60%
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English
  • Self-motivated, thorough, and team-oriented work attitude
  • Hands-on mentality and initiative
