The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Investment Analyst to join our Corporate Venture Fund team. You will play a pivotal role in providing scientific and strategic insights into competitive dynamics, industry trends, and future treatment landscapes across multiple indications addressed by the biopharma, healthcare, and life sciences sectors. Leveraging your background in research, development, and medicine, you will lead all intelligence aspects during due diligence and help shape investment strategies by analyzing competitor activities, evaluating standards of care, and identifying innovative treatment options that could disrupt the market.

This position is part-time eligible at 80%.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive competitor analysis in pharma/biotech, focusing on breakthrough science and innovation, while monitoring industry disruptors and trends.
• Analyze medical needs, gaps in current standards of care, and evaluate future transformative therapeutics and technologies across a broad range of diseases.
• Translate complex data into strategic insights to prioritize high-potential investment opportunities prior to Investment Committee approval.
• Continuously monitor the evolving competitor landscape relevant to our portfolio companies.
• Establish and support the strategic Competitive Intelligence function for the Corporate Venture Fund, aiding colleagues and investments globally.

Requirements

• Academic degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Medicine, Biomedical Research, or related fields, with relevant experience and understanding of drug discovery, clinical trials, and healthcare trends.
• Experience in an innovation-driven biotech, pharmaceutical company, or healthcare consulting role is preferred.
• Proficiency in competitive intelligence research, data analysis tools, and familiarity with industry databases such as Cortellis, EvaluatePharma, PubMed, and clinical trial registries.
• Self-motivated with a proven track record of independent and team-oriented work.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, capable of condensing complex data into clear messages for decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with a results-driven approach.
• Adaptable and responsive in a fast-paced environment with short timelines and dynamic priorities.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
