Tieto Tech Consulting is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and implement AI-driven workflows in a cloud-native environment. You will work with Generative AI, LLMs, and AI agents to transform client processes into scalable enterprise solutions.

Join a fast-growing practice active across Germany and beyond. You will own technical decisions, contribute to architecture, and mentor colleagues while collaborating with customers and teams in German and English.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI solutions in production
• Practical experience with LLM-based systems (RAG, agents, GenAI)
• Strong Python software engineering skills (testing, APIs, CI/CD)
• Understanding of cloud-based AI architectures and production environments (Azure preferred)
• Good understanding of data engineering and integration concepts
• Structured approach to quality and ability to communicate with stakeholders
• Proficiency in German and English for customer interactions

Aufgaben

• Design and build AI agents and workflows for business problems
• Take ownership of applied AI solutions from architecture to code quality
• Build enterprise-grade AI solutions on modern platforms, mainly Azure
• Set up environments for scalable AI workloads (GenAIOps, CI/CD, observability)
• Work with customer data landscapes: pipelines, retrieval, data quality, access control
• Integrate AI into clients' IT landscape and hand over to ops teams
• Support pre-sales with technical scoping and effort estimates

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will design and implement AI-enabled workflows in a modern, cloud-driven environment. From tailored agentic systems to the environments they run on, you will be at the forefront of transforming our customers' business processes in the era of AI.

Depending on the customer use case, you will work with Generative AI, large language models, AI agents, and cloud-native AI services. As part of a dynamic and fast-growing practice, you will help evaluate suitable technologies, shape new customer engagements, and turn promising prototypes into enterprise-grade solutions.

When joining Tieto Tech Consulting as a Senior AI Engineer (m/f/d), you

• Design and build AI agents and workflows that solve concrete business problems
• Take technical ownership of applied AI solutions - from architecture decisions to engineering standards and code quality
• Build enterprise-grade solutions on modern AI platforms, mainly Azure
• Set up the environments to operate agentic workloads at scale - GenAIOps, CI/CD, observability, systematic evaluation, and cost control
• Work with our customers' data landscape - data pipelines, retrieval, and data quality, including how sensitive data is handled and access is controlled
• Integrate AI solutions into our customers' existing IT landscape and hand them over cleanly to the teams that run them
• Support pre-sales with technical scoping and effort estimates, and build our customers' own AI know-how through workshops and training
• Grow the team through code reviews, knowledge sharing and technical mentoring

Who We Are Looking For

• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI solutions in production, not just prototypes
• Practical experience with LLM-based systems: RAG, agents, or comparable applied GenAI work
• Strong software engineering skills in Python - testing, code structure, APIs, and CI/CD, not just notebooks
• Good understanding of cloud-based AI architectures and production environments (preferably Azure)
• A good understanding of data engineering and integration concepts
• A structured approach to quality - you evaluate systems systematically rather than judging them by demo
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Professional working proficiency in German and English, enabling you to confidently communicate with customers and project teams

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure AI services and GenAIOps / MLOps tooling
• A background in classical machine learning (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn), for the use cases where a trained model beats a prompt
• Previous experience in consulting or customer-facing technology projects
• Experience with AI governance or model evaluation
• Experience mentoring engineers or owning technical workstreams
