About this role:

We are looking for a talented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Berlin. In this critical role, you will manage day-to-day accounting and reporting activities, collaborating closely with multiple teams: various teams in the Berlin office, our headquarters in Amsterdam, and teams across the world. You’ll be responsible for delivering accurate data, performing monthly analysis, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.

Key responsibilities:

1. Statutory Reporting: Prepare and manage statutory reporting for our German entities, ensuring full compliance with local and international standards.
2. Management Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet accounts, journal entries.
3. Analysis: Investigate primary financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cashflow statement, etc.) and underlying movement tables.
4. Technical Accounting: Provide guidance on accounting and reporting regulations, particularly IFRS and German GAAP, to ensure consistent and accurate practices.
5. Audit Support: Assist with external and internal audits and implement recommendations as necessary.
6. Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies.
7. Ad Hoc Projects: Contribute to special projects and process improvements to enhance processes and automation within the group.
8. Stakeholder Support: Offer financial insights and information to internal stakeholders (payroll, tax, etc.), aiding informed decision-making.

What will you bring to the table?

1. 5-8 years of relevant experience in general ledger accounting, auditing, or similar roles in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, or related field, with a professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
3. Strong technical accounting skills including IFRS and a solid understanding of German GAAP.
4. Expertise in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and knowledge of payroll and taxation (VAT and CIT experience is a plus).
5. Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
6. Excellent attention to detail, with strong planning and organizational skills.
7. Self-starter attitude, comfortable with change, thriving in fast-paced environments.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, effective collaboration, and stakeholder influence.
9. Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
