Zusammenfassung

Newrest in Germany seeks an experienced accountant to join the finance team. The role covers reconciling general and subsidiary ledgers, managing fixed asset accounts, and performing monthly closings in line with HGB.

You will coordinate with controlling for accruals and assist in tax reporting. Using Winrest ERP and MS Office, you will ensure accurate financial data, support audits, and contribute to annual reporting while maintaining compliance with VAT regulations.

Qualifikationen

• Additional certifications such as ZVÜ, LuSi, and IFSG are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconciliations of general and subsidiary ledgers.
• Manage and maintain fixed asset accounts.
• Execute payment runs for posted invoices.
• Prepare and manage monthly financial statements.
• Create and post monthly accruals in coordination with the controlling department.
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with HGB.
• Handle VAT pre‑registration and compliance with German tax laws.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax‑related data.
• Utilize ERP systems (Winrest preferred) for financial data management.
• Work closely with the controlling department and other teams to ensure financial accuracy.
• Provide active support during audits and annual reporting cycles.

Education & Certifications

• Successfully completed a commercial apprenticeship, ideally with further qualification as an accountant or tax specialist.
• Additional certifications such as ZVÜ, LuSi, and IFSG are a plus.

Experience

• Several years of professional experience in accounting, especially in preparing financial statements according to HGB and managing VAT law.
• Knowledge of IFRS standards is advantageous.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Winrest or similar accounting tools.

Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent knowledge of German commercial law and VAT regulations.
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
• Structured, reliable, self‑motivated with a hands‑on mentality.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
