Job Summary:

Join Firebird's Finance Team as a Senior Accountant supporting our rapidly expanding music company. You'll play a crucial part in financial operations across our diverse portfolio of 1,000+ artists and partner companies, working directly with our Assistant Corporate Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance in our dynamic, multi-revenue-stream environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Accounting Functions:

• Execute monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple business units
• Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and general ledger analysis, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Maintain accurate accounts receivable tracking and support cash collection efforts

Revenue & Multi-Entity Accounting:

• Execute revenue accounting processes across diverse talent roster and business units
• Develop and maintain systems for tracking multiple income streams (touring, recording, digital platforms, etc.)
• Support financial onboarding and accounting for new partner companies and subsidiaries

Reporting & Compliance:

• Prepare management and investor reporting packages
• Support audit requests and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in high-growth or entertainment industry
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in multi-entity accounting
• Advanced Excel skills and financial reporting capabilities
• Proven ability to work independently and solve complex problems in fast-paced environments
• Hands-on approach to problem-solving and diving deep into complex details

Preferred:

• CPA certification or progress toward certification
• Startup or entertainment industry experience
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar cloud-based ERP systems
• ERP implementation or optimization experience
• Experience with revenue recognition for complex, multi-stream businesses
• Enthusiasm for contributing to company growth and industry innovation
