As the Secondary Engineering Leader for Central Europe, you will be at the forefront of the energy transition, directing the control, protection, and integration strategies for our HVDC and AC substation projects. You will lead a high-performing, geographically dispersed team of over 50 engineers, ensuring that our technical delivery remains the industry benchmark for innovation, safety, and reliability. This is a strategic leadership position designed for an experienced engineering executive who thrives on complexity. You will manage the entire lifecycle of Secondary Engineering—from tendering and design to final integration—while fostering a culture of operational excellence, process digitalization, and continuous improvement using Lean methodologies.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 15+ years of engineering experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) environments within Transmission & Distribution.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large engineering teams (50+ engineers), including remote and multi-site leadership.
  • Advanced expertise in substation control system design, electrical distribution, ancillary services, and industry standards.
  • Extensive background in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology, ACS, FACTS and digital control systems.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize safety and quality, and deliver results on time.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of control and protection systems for HVDC and AC substations.
  • Proficiency in digital control system software, electrical distribution, telecom, and monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard engineering tools and project management methodologies.
