Enemix seeks a Senior Substation Delivery Lead for a flagship 1 GW BESS project at 380 kV in Germany. You will deliver the substation and coordinate with TSOs, while guiding a small engineering team through design and delivery.

Fluent German is required, with extensive HV experience (110 kV+), and a track record of working with TSOs and complex grid connections. This role blends technical leadership with stakeholder management and cross-border project delivery.

Qualifikationen

My client is a fast-growing, institutionally backed independent power producer (IPP), developing, financing, constructing and operating renewable energy and battery storage assets across Europe. Built on the discipline of institutional capital and the pace of a founder-led team, the business is on track to reach approximately 7 GW of renewable energy and battery storage assets in operation, construction and at right-to-build by 2028.

Germany is one of the company's most important markets. The business is delivering a growing portfolio of solar and battery storage projects, underpinned by strategic grid infrastructure and its own substation capability, a model that sets it apart from single-project developers.

Why This Role Exists

The business is in the design phase of a flagship 1 GW BESS power plant at 380kV, including a substation with 4 x 300 MVA transformers and a COD of 2028. Alongside this, the team is progressing a wider pipeline of grid infrastructure projects. This role has been created to lead substation delivery on this scale, while also taking on responsibility for a small team of dedicated engineers.

What You'll Do

• Lead substation project delivery for a 1 GW BESS power plant at 380kV, including a 4 x 300.MVA transformer substation, through to COD 2028
• Manage delivery across a wider portfolio of projects, with responsibility not limited to Germany.
• Lead and develop a small team of dedicated engineers.
• Act as a key point of contact for grid connection and substation matters, working closely with the Head of Grid..
• Support coordination with TSOs and other grid stakeholders through project design and delivery.

What We're Looking For

• Fluent German.
• High voltage substation experience at 110kV and above.
• Direct experience working with or alongside TSOs.
• Project management experience within substations, grid connections or high voltage infrastructure.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in planning and delivery of high-voltage or substation infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of primary, secondary, and protection systems.
• Familiarity with German and European technical standards in the power sector.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Ability to manage complex technical interfaces across project stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills in German and English.
• Structured, solution-oriented engineering mindset with a holistic system view.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience managing or mentoring engineers.
• Exposure to BESS, solar or hybrid renewable energy projects.

What's On Offer

Base salary of EUR 100,000–140,000, dependent on experience. Further benefits to be confirmed.
