DESY, with more than 2900 employees at its two locations in Hamburg and Zeuthen, is one of the world's leading research centres. Its research focuses on decoding the structure and function of matter, from the smallest particles of the universe to the building blocks of life. DESY offers a highly attractive working environment in science, technology, and administration, as well as for educating highly qualified young scientists.
We are looking for a highly motivated experienced scientist to plan and develop a fully automated instrument for high-throughput powder diffraction at P25, including commissioning and user support in collaboration with the powder diffraction team at beamline P02.1. The beamline specializes in high energy X-ray powder diffraction and PDF methods, working on in situ crystallization, variable temperature studies, operando studies of battery materials and catalysts, stress-strain measurements, and high-throughput data collections under ambient conditions. The candidate should also contribute to our in-house research program with their own projects.
We offer a unique international research environment, flexible working hours, part-time options, mobile work, health management, occupational pension, and training opportunities. Remuneration follows the TV-AVH regulations, and employees receive a financial supplement for a German job ticket.
