Your mission

With immediate effect, we are seeking to hire a passionate Scientist – Computational Biology [f/m/d] to join our Assay Development Team. By working closely with biologists and biomedical experts, you will be responsible for the computational downstream analysis of high-dimensional spatial single-cell data, with a focus on immuno-oncology and targeted gene panel design.

This is a full-time position based at our headquarters in Monheim am Rhein, Germany, collaborating with the Application Development, Molecular Biology, and Data Science teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply software tools and pipelines for computational analysis of molecular cartography spatial multi-omic datasets.
  • Extract biological insights from high-dimensional single-cell data, including cell type identification, differential expression, cellular neighborhoods, and cell-cell communication.
  • Design and evaluate targeted gene panels for performance and accuracy.
  • Assess the impact of technical variables, such as cell segmentation, on data analysis results.
  • Gather requirements from team members and project teams.
  • Train and support internal users in data analysis tools and pipelines.
  • Collaborate with developers and external partners to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Plan personal work in alignment with objectives.
Your profile
  • PhD in biology, bioinformatics, or related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience analyzing high-dimensional single-cell data using tools like Seurat or Scanpy.
  • Experience in oncology and/or systems immunology is preferred.
  • Proficiency in R or Python; proficiency in both is a plus.
  • Experience with fluorescence microscopy and image analysis is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with workflow tools like Snakemake or Nextflow is beneficial.
  • Experience designing studies for harmonized analysis across experiments and large samples is a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and scientific attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills and goal focus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally if required.
