Job Description:

In our Clinical Biomarkers & Technology team, we have an exciting opening for an Associate Director, Clinical Assay Strategy for in-situ tissue biomarker technologies. In your role as a subject matter expert, you will drive the clinical biomarker assay strategy, its implementation in oncology & immunology, and provide advice for biomarker analysis, data interpretation, and decision-making in clinical programs. You will work with an interdisciplinary development team, commercial technology & solution providers, and academic experts to support biomarker needs from phase I to post-launch.

Your responsibilities include developing clinical biomarker assay strategies using single- and multiplex IHC/IF/(F)ISH techniques and assessing innovative tissue-based technologies. You will ensure quality and timelines, manage external service partners, and adhere to regulatory guidelines. This role is based in Darmstadt, Germany, but may be operated from other locations in Germany.

Who you are:
  • A passionate scientist with a PhD in oncology, immunology, biology, biochemistry, or related fields, with 10+ years of industry experience.
  • Profound expertise in histology/pathology and tissue-based/in situ technologies.
  • Experienced in establishing assays for biomarker identification, characterization, and monitoring in tissue.
  • Skilled in assay development, qualification, and validation studies.
  • Experience in regulated environments including GXPs and standards.
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written).
  • Highly motivated, flexible, creative, organized, with excellent communication skills.
