Jobbeschreibung

For child ASD assessments we set out to observe all children in school. The school observation is considered alongside a developmental history and an ADOS-2 to form a diagnostic opinion. It is one part of our NICE guideline compliant multi-disciplinary team diagnostic assessment for children.

We are looking for clinicians to fulfil this school observation role as part of the assessment pathway. It is an opportunity for clinicians to work on our diagnostic pathway if they are not yet formally trained in the ADI-R or ADOS-2. Following the observation, you will then contribute to the multi-disciplinary team diagnostic decision.

You may set the parameters for the counties you are willing to complete school observations in. A typical school observation consists of a morning or afternoon visit with:

– Observation of the child in classroom during structured time – Observation of the child at break during unstructured time – A ‘tour of the school’ to allow one-to-one time with the child – An interview with a teacher or member of staff who knows the child well

You will be providing assessments for self-funded private clients and occasional individually commissioned assessments by public bodies and other establishments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, professionalism, and reliability are essential. Professional qualification as a psychologist, psychiatrist, paediatrician, nurse, speech and language therapist or occupational therapist. Registration with the HCPC, GMC or NMC.
