SAP MDG Integration Solution Architect with DMS , PLM experience

Location:
Work from home, with the odd onsite visit for workshop and go live etc.
Contract 6-12 months
Must be a UK or EU passport holder and able to travel freely to Germany or Sweden unaided.


Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an experienced SAP MDG Integration Architect with strong knowledge of DMS, PLM processes to lead the design and implementation of SAP Master Data Governance solutions integrated with DMS systems. This role will be responsible for defining integration architecture, aligning data models, and ensuring robust, scalable integration between SAP MDG, S/4HANA, and DMS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and deliver integration architecture between SAP MDG and DMS systems.
• Design data models and governance frameworks for master data objects (Material, BOM, Document, Vendor, Customer, etc.).
• Lead workshops with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and define integration scenarios.
• Ensure integration aligns with S/4HANA target architecture and business processes.
• Oversee technical development of interfaces (e.g. SAP PO/PI/CPI, APIs, IDocs, BAPIs).
• Support data quality and data migration activities, ensuring PLM master data consistency in SAP.
• Collaborate with DMS ,PLM and SAP functional teams to align data governance policies.
• Provide guidance and oversight for development teams on integration build.
• Support testing, validation, and cutover planning for integration workstreams.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years SAP experience with focus on MDG and integration.
• Proven track record as SAP MDG Solution / Integration Architect.
• Strong understanding of SAP MDG Data Models (Material Master, Vendor, Customer, BOM, Documents).
• Hands-on experience integrating SAP MDG with DMSsystems .(SAP PLM, Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill etc.).
• Experience with SAP integration technologies (SAP CPI/PI/PO, IDoc, BAPI, REST APIs).
• Deep understanding of S/4HANA data models and extensibility.
• Experience in data governance and master data quality processes.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors.
• Ability to lead workshops and document functional and technical designs.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• SAP DMS functional knowledge.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation or greenfield implementations.
• Familiarity with 3rd party integration platforms.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, automotive or consumer goods industry.
• Knowledge of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform).

Language Requirements:

• Fluent in English (other languages a plus depending on client location).

Start Date:

• Flexible / ASAP

Contract Duration:

• 6–12 months initial with possible extensions (for contract roles)
