Position : SAP IS-Retail Technical Architect
Location : Europe Remote / Hybrid
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of total SAP functional experience, with at least 5+ years in SAP IS-Retail AMS or production support.
- Proven expertise configuring and supporting at least three core Retail areas (Article / Site Master, Pricing & Promotions, Merchandise Distribution, POSDTA / CAR, Allocation, Markdown, Omnichannel).
- Experience with at least one S/4HANA Retail or Fashion Management support engagement (1909 or later preferred).
- Hands-on debugging skills and basic ABAP knowledge (tables, BADIs, user-exits, IDocs) and Fiori troubleshooting.
- Strong integration knowledge with SD, MM, FI, EWM / TM, CAR, 3rd-party POS, and e-commerce platforms.
- Track record of meeting SLA and availability targets in high-volume retail environments (e.g., Black Friday, Holiday peaks).
- Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, Solution Manager ITSM) and ChaRM.
- ITIL Foundation certification or commitment to certify within 6 months.
- Fluency in English; additional EMEA languages (German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Polish, etc.) are highly desirable.
- Eligibility to work in the EU / EMEA and participate in on-call rotations.
- Experience in POSDM system, integration between POSDM and ECC / S/4HANA, data migration in ECC and S/4HANA, data handling in ECC for POS sales, configuration and issue resolution in POS, article master, article types and hierarchy, site configs, promotions, IDoc management, error handling, and ECC enhancements related to POS and article management.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent.
- SAP Certified Application Professional in SAP S/4HANA for SAP Retail (desired).
- Certifications in Agile/Scrum, Prince2, or PMP are advantageous.
Key Responsibilities :
- Resolve L2 / L3 incidents and service requests for IS-Retail modules (MM-PUR, MM-IM, SD, Retail Pricing, Promotions, Allocation, POSDTA, CAR, etc.) within SLAs.
- Conduct root-cause analysis, propose fixes, document knowledge articles, and prevent recurrence (Problem Management).
- Monitor batch jobs and interface health (PI / PO, CPI, MQ, Kafka).
Minor Enhancements & Change Releases
- Gather business requirements, write Functional Specifications, configure and test CRs (pricing tactics, new sites, hierarchies, promotion types, markdown rules, stock transfer scenarios).
- Coordinate with ABAP / Fiori, Integration, and Basis teams; manage transports through ChaRM / CTS+; perform regression testing during releases.
- Optimize processes and systems, analyze ticket trends and KPIs, and recommend automation (Fiori Retail apps, BTP extensions, CAR POSDTA 3.0, MIM, OAA).
- Benchmark new S/4HANA Retail features and develop value-realization roadmaps (e.g., Advanced Returns, Unified Demand Forecast, Replenishment).
- Lead workshops for continuous improvement with various teams.
Governance, Compliance & Security
- Enforce ITIL v4 processes and ensure audit readiness (SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
- Participate in disaster recovery drills, provide RCA and corrective actions, mentor support analysts, liaise with vendors, and support pre-sales activities.

- POSDTA / TPOM / CAR inbound & outbound, Sales Audit, Stock Ledger, Returns, Omnichannel ATP / OAA, Gift Cards & Loyalty.
Inventory & Logistics
- Inventory Management, Physical Inventory, Site-to-Site STOs, Merchandise Distribution, integration with EWM / TM or third-party WMS.
Analytics & Digital
- SAP CAR (POSDTA, Demand Forecast, Analytics Cloud), BW / 4HANA reporting, Fiori Apps, BTP extensions.
