Job Description:
The main objective of LUCA program is to successfully upgrade METRO’s Finance to SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba to ensure business continuity and avoid security and compliance risks. The LUCA program is, in addition, a critical enabler of METRO’s strategy to achieve standardization, harmonization, and centralization.
Within the LUCA program, the SAP Ariba Solution Architect is a specialized role focusing on the technical aspects of implementing SAP Ariba solutions to optimize indirect procurement processes within an organization. This role requires a good understanding of SAP Ariba modules, such as SAP Ariba Sourcing, SAP Buying and Invoicing, Guided Buying and Invoice Management and, particularly, a deep hands-on experience on the integration between SAP Ariba and S/4 HANA as well as the supplier integration capabilities within Commerce Automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for SAP Ariba rollouts and enhancements
- Review initial requirements against current business processes to identify gaps or opportunities for improvement
- Provide advice on integration implementation approaches and their implications,
- Support the process leads and process owners by offering insights on integration architectural decisions and their alignment with business needs
- Oversee the configuration of Cloud Integration Gateway
- Support in the usage of API’s for data exchange with SAP Ariba
- Support the technical onboarding of suppliers on the Ariba Network
- Oversee the technical configuration of SAP Ariba modules, including approval workflows, document numbering, interface settings, etc.
- Support the data migration on the migration of master and transactional data
- Support the various test phases including defect resolution
- Support the deployment activities, including hypercare
- Support the Service Management by reviewing incidents and request for changes
- Drive the adoption of IT Security Standards and IT Audit action plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 8+ years of hands-on technical experience with SAP Ariba, with strong knowledge of Commerce Automation and API-based integration
- Hands-on experience with Ariba integration methods: CIG, APIs, IDocs, Web Services, or middleware tools (e.g., SAP PI/PO, BTP)
- Proficiency in Ariba Network configuration and document mapping (orders, order confirmations, ship notices, service entries, and invoices)
- Familiarity with SAP ERP (S/4HANA or ECC) procurement modules (SAP MM and Master Data)
- Experience in implementing or supporting one or more Ariba modules: Sourcing, Contracts, Buying, Invoicing, Commerce Automation
- Understanding of SAP Ariba network configurations and master data flow,
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
- Ability to travel is required
