Job Description:

SAP Archiving Expert - Decommissioning Systems

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a SAP Expert with experience in decommissioning legacy SAP infrastructures to join a project in Berlin. This role involves working for our consultancy client.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze, evaluate, and develop the current SAP decommissioning solution.
• Ensure stability, audit compliance, and long-term sustainability of the decommissioning approach.
• Identify and address weaknesses in the existing AvenDATA solution.
• Support vendor interactions and evaluate alternative software solutions.
• Act as a technical and strategic partner for business units and IT.
• Assist in decision-making, system selection, and solution design.

Skills required:

• Experience in at least 2 projects involving SAP decommissioning tools (e.g., JiVS IMP, SAP ILM, PBS, OpenText).
• Led or supported structured selection of decommissioning/archive solutions (including RFPs, evaluation matrices, PoCs, and decision templates).
• Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders (finance, legal, data protection).

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of leading SAP decommissioning products and architectures.
• Experience conducting or evaluating PoCs in SAP environments.
• Basic understanding of SAP Basis, authorizations, and archiving infrastructure (e.g., ArchiveLink, ILM rules).
• Awareness of data retention, security, and compliance issues.
