Our client is a well-established Japanese chemical manufacturing company specializing in rubbers such as Epichlorohydrin Rubber and Acrylic Rubber. The company is expanding its presence in the European market, particularly in the automotive sector.

Location : Düsseldorf, Germany (Hybrid work model: office presence preferred, remote work negotiable)

Role Description :

We are seeking a Sales and Marketing Manager to lead business development and client engagement for synthetic rubber products in the European automotive market. The role focuses on both direct sales to Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers and strategic engagement with OEMs to promote the adoption of our materials.

You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and collaborating with the Japan headquarters and local distributors. A key part of the role is to understand OEM strategies and requirements, providing valuable feedback to guide future product development.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies for rubber products
  • Manage direct sales to Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers
  • Engage with OEMs to promote product adoption and influence supplier decisions
  • Conduct market research and monitor industry trends
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Japan HQ to align on product and market strategies
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders
  • Attend industry events and trade shows to represent the company
Qualifications :

Required :

  • Proven experience in sales, marketing, or business development in the automotive or chemical industry
  • Strong understanding of chemical products used in automotive applications
  • Experience working with OEMs and Tier 1 / Tier 2 suppliers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and market research capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international teams
  • Fluency in English and German (both written and spoken)
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus

Preferred :

  • Experience with Epichlorohydrin Rubber or Acrylic Rubber
  • Technical background in materials science or polymer chemistry
  • Familiarity with OEM decision-making processes and product qualification cycles
