Our client

Our client is a global multinational in the packaging industry.

Location

Any location in Germany (home-office based).

This is a new created field sales position expanding the existing sales team, reporting directly into the European Sales Director.

In this role you will inherit some existing customers, but the core focus is on developing new clients and build a solid pipeline of sales opportunities which can be converted in new deals and orders.

In this position you will cover the complete German territory and this will be your core market. In addition, you will develop some business in Denmark, Benelux and Switzerland, these would be secondary markets.

Your portfolio of products will be both standard as well as bespoke cannisters and bottles, which are used for the filling and transportation of industrial liquids. Examples of target sectors are: automotive fluids (e.g. lubricants), agrochemical (e.g. crop protection), chemical liquids (e.g. cleaning, disinfection), industrial flavours and fragrances. The size of bottles and cannisters span from a few millilitres up to 5-10 litres.

The main responsibilities of the role can be summarized as follows:

·Develop and implement a sales strategy in your market to achieve sales development goals and revenues

·Seek and identify new sales opportunities and areas of growth within your market

·Promote and take advantage of the company’s circular economy and sustainability transformation strategy to maximize business growth.

·Conduct market research as well as competitor and customer analysis in order to identify sales opportunities.

·Be responsible for price, product mix and gross margin plans.

·Prepare budgets and forecasts (annual, quarterly and monthly).

·Drive an active customer service for our customers.

·Build a strong and trustful relationship with the internal sales teams of factories in several European countries.

·Work collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems and processes that improve overall efficiency

·Provide timely, accurate and complete reports to the Sales Director

Candidate profile

We are looking for an experienced sales professional with a business development / business hunting profile.

The hired candidate will bring sales experience in industrial markets, with main focus in sectors like agrochemical, chemical, lubricants or similar sectors with needs for filling of industrial liquids.

A previous experience related with industrial packaging products would be strong a plus.

In terms of soft skills, these would be the most important ones:

·Open-minded and good communication skills for internal and external networking.

·Ability to multi-task, prioritise and make decisions.

·Organisational and planning skills.

·Ability to analyse and solve problems.

·Strong presentation skills (to management, clients and other key stakeholders).

·Good argumentation skills, adaptability and ability to innovate and enjoy working in a team.

Languages:

·Fluent German and English skills are a must for the role.

Travel:

·The position requires around 50% travelling (visiting customers mostly and internal stakeholders at the company’s sites).
