About the role

The Sales Manager DACH will be responsible for the overall sales in the food industry assigned in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In this position, you are responsible for analyzing the market and relevant market data to further improve AAK’s position. The responsible Sales Manager will set and execute the commercial strategy, in close cooperation with the Sales Director.


Responsibilities

  1. Setting and executing the commercial strategy for the assigned countries/regions to improve overall market share and profitability.
  2. Independently analyze the market as well as competition and extrapolate strategic steps.
  3. Cooperate closely with the Customer Innovation teams, Sales Director, and Inhouse/Customer Service sales team to achieve the optimum sales results and customer satisfaction.
  4. Support and develop the business plan, which will meet both personal and business goals for expanding the customer base in the assigned countries/region.
  5. Prepare reports on margin and volume targets according to internal procedures.
  6. Ensure satisfaction of the client base, based on a “customer-centric” approach.
  7. Keep track and secure account agreements and contracts as necessary.
  8. Signal and follow up timely on (production) challenges and/or issues by using your problem-solving skills.
  9. Propose and implement initiatives within the Sales department.
  10. Achieve results through effective sales management and Go to Market sales strategy.

About you

To be successful in the role you need:

  1. Bachelor’s degree education, preferably in food or commercial.
  2. Mother tongue German, fluent in English, preferred would be one other language (Italian or French).
  3. Proven track record as Sales Manager in the food industry (2 - 7 years), preferably familiar with AAK products and markets.
  4. Experienced to plan, direct, achieve and monitor sales targets set.
  5. Experience with forecasting, negotiation and snowball management.
  6. Excellent customer relationship skills, both virtual as well as in person.
  7. Independently initiator of commercial activities with a hunter mentality.
  8. Problem solver.
  9. Value adding mindset.
  10. Willingness to travel.
  11. Industry knowledge is certainly an asset.
